My mother started with dark brown hair, but wanted to add some soft streaks of gold. I balayaged in some lightener to give the effect of shadows and highlights, but less defined streaks. It really bought to life a charismatic personality to her hair.

After about 5 months Kristie was ready to touch up her ombre. She has her natural brown lightening into blonde ends. It looks fabulous!
I finally finished Taylor's Quilt. I found the material with the different color bubbles on it several months ago, and knew the colors would make a fun boy quilt. After surfing the web for quilt ideas I decided on the diamond pattern, and I love the way it all came together.

I am so excited about my ombre color! My ombre is a little more traditional from my other post, but I chose to blend the dark brow down into a vibrant red instead of a more common caramel color. There are so many possibilities with this color, I can't wait for the opportunity to do my next ombre.

Right now the "ombre" technique of a color gradient is becoming ever popular, and seems to be finding its way into even fashion and food. The above hair color I just did is inspired by this hot new trend, but given a rocker twist for shorter hair. I love the way the red melts into her blondish ends!
